Dr. Sarah Aref grew up in Ottawa, Canada and later moved to Michigan when she was in high school. She attended Wayne State University in Detroit, MI where she graduated summa cum laude. Dr. Aref then decided to pursue a career in dentistry and graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy. During dental school, Dr. Sarah discovered her passion for treating kids and decided that she wanted to become a pediatric dentist. In pursuit of her dream, Dr. Sarah completed her residency at University Hospitals - Rainbow Babies/ Case Western, where she served as one of the chief residents. During her residency, Dr. Sarah trained in behavior management, advanced sedation, and treating patients with medical and behavioral disorders. Dr. Sarah is a board-certified pediatric dentist who strives to make every dental appointment for your child (and you) comfortable and enjoyable by treating your family with compassion, kindness, and a smile!
Dr. Wei Yao grew up in China where she completed five years of professional training and earned a bachelor's degree in dental science in 2003. After one year of practicing general dentistry, she pursued three years of orthodontic training and finished her master's degree in orthodontics. After practicing as an orthodontist for six years, Dr. Wei traveled to Michigan in order to reunite with her family. After moving to Michigan, Dr. Wei completed the advanced standing program in University of Michigan School of Dentistry and got her DDS degree. Since then, Dr. Wei has enjoyed providing a full range of dental care for kids and young adults, helping them with healthy development and beautiful smile. Dr. Wei Yao is dedicated to meeting patients’ needs and providing comprehensive dental care for kids and young adults.
Dr. Yao has held membership in both the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO) and the Chinese Orthodontic Society (COS). She currently holds membership in the American Dental Association and the Michigan Dental Association.
